Three matters needing attention in the construction of refractory castables

   Details to be known in the early stage of construction

   1. Strictly control the amount of water added. In winter, the temperature of the construction environment must be greater than 5°C, and there are certain anti-freezing measures.

   2. The refractory castable must be mixed with a mixer, and manual mixing is strictly prohibited.

   3. The anchors must be swelled or rinsed with asphalt paint.

   4. It is strictly forbidden to mix this product with other castables.

   2. The preparations and strict inspections before construction are as follows:

Prepare refractory castable construction equipment and clean up the site; construction machinery and equipment are in good condition; anchor material, size, layout and welding quality and preventive measures for water loss of surrounding refractory bricks; pre-test whether the castable fails; water quality It should meet the drinking water standard; the above-mentioned acceptance is qualified and the construction work can be started under the condition of uninterrupted construction.

   Three, construction points

  1. Mold making: It is made of steel plate or hardwood, coated with mold agent (oil) on the steel plate, and coated with waterproof paint, which should not leak grout and have good strength.

  2. Stirring: Use a blender to stir, first pour the castable into the blender, take out the additives and add them together, dry mix for 2-3 minutes, then add water and mix for 3-5 minutes. The amount of water should not be too much or less.

      3. Vibration: The pouring material poured into the mold should not leak to a certain position or be rammed at the same place immediately to avoid segregation and holes in the pouring material. The mixed pouring material must be added from water to use up. Within 20-30 minutes, the initial setting material should be discarded.

  4. Curing: After the surface of the castable is dry and reaches 70% strength, the mold can be removed. The time is 24 hours and the curing time is 48 hours.

  5. Oven: According to different grades and thickness of castable lining and its climate conditions, users must ensure sufficient baking time for 72 hours.

   Reasons for refractory castable:

  Chemical factors, the refractory castable is an unshaped refractory prepared by mixing chemical substances with water. The chemical slag and the interaction between the oxidation of the furnace gas in the kiln and the refractory castable cause corrosion of the refractory castable

  Physical factors, the internal temperature of the kiln is too high, the improper use of the castable causes the cracking, melting of the castable, and other impurities on the inner wall of the furnace.

   Third, mechanical factors. The use of kilns inevitably requires mechanical equipment to deal with. Although the refractory castables are not encountered in the construction, the impact of indirect forces will be. The degree of damage to knowledge castables accelerates.
